For our Senior Capstone Program in Engineering (SCOPE), my team made a conformal coating spray machine for Blue Origin.
Our system reduces process cost by more than 50% and cuts lead time by 15%. Our 6-man team developed the machine over the course of 2 semesters.
As a Mechanical Engineer for the team, my contributions included:
- Systems-level design for pneumatics/fluids system - CAD pneumatics/fluids system using Solidworks - Fabrication and assembly of the pneumatics/fluids system
- Support fabrication and assembly of other sub-sytems
- Assisted spray testing

The final system can coat boards up to 24"x24", and was shipped to Blue Origin at the end of the semester.
